SECITA NEW YEAR LUNCH 2011

SECITA (Senior Citizens’ Association, Selangor & Federal Territory), an NGO, was established on 5 December 1984 by a group of retired professional and civil servants to look into the needs, welfare and interests of the elderly, aged 55 and above, through various activities that promote their physical, emotional and spiritual well-being, irrespective of race, colour or creed. Registered in 1985 with the ROS (Registrar of Societies), SECITA was breaking new ground in the area of caring for the aged.

It is highly significant that in 2009, SECITA’s Silver Jubilee year, Bangunan SECITA is standing tall and impressive, ready to serve the whole community. After 25 years of relocating from “Balai” to “Balai” in Petaling Jaya, finally there is a permanent venue with ample rooms / areas and facilities to hold activities / classes from Tai Chi / Qi Gong / Waitankung, Line/Social/Cultural Dancing and Singing to computer literacy, languages, art & craft, music and calligraphy –all at nominal fees in serving the community and country.

Let us tribute to:
The pioneers for their fore-sight,
Those who stayed the course when the going got tough, and
Those who took up the challenge to realize a dream!
